You Are Made to be Spiritually Connected

How Can I Have Life? Great question! The truth is that you are made to be spiritually connected. Jesus told a parable to illustrate how important connectedness with Him is. The parable of the vine and the branches reveals that living like Jesus is easy as long as we depend upon Him and not upon our own resources. The most basic truth is that you cannot be spiritually independent.

The parable of the vine and branches in John 15 also speaks about being cut back to bear fruit. This is the secret to spiritual transformation. The parable of the vine and branches means that we must depend upon God for our spiritual life and that God will constantly work within us to refine and develop our likeness to Him. What did Jesus mean when he said he is the vine? Simply put, He meant that He is the source of life and spiritual health for us. It is His work that He intends to do by His grace within us. Our part is to trust and cooperate by not resisting His work in our lives. Jesus intends that we would be entirely set free to love others. Freedom from myself means freedom to love others!
