The Parable of the Talents Explained

The Kingdom of God's success is guaranteed because of what Jesus has done in history. The big question is, Do you see the value of the Kingdom of God? If you do, then you will realise that the best thing you can do with your life is to invest in the Kingdom of God. Giving up our lives for the Kingdom of God is not a big price to pay once we comprehend that what God is offering us far outweighs whatever this world promises!

The parable of the talents tells us a lot about the Kingdom of God. In particular, the parable of the talents reveals who are the citizens of the Kingdom of God. This parable of Jesus is clear that those who are saved for the Kingdom of God are those who constantly grow in the Kingdom of God, they are actively serving in the Kingdom of God and they are overcoming their inherited and cultivated tendencies to evil by the power of Jesus. Because of the forgiveness of Jesus and the indwelling power of Jesus, there is no conflict between the Ten Commandments and the Kingdom of God. Whether in terms of personal character growth or in terms of our calling to service, all of God's instructions are also His enablings. God will equip us for transformation of character and God will equip us with spiritual gifts for the life of service that He has appointed for us!
